KIPPAGE: Fun Facts & Useless Information 7: As the World Ends

BULLSHIT AND OTHER FABLES :

If the Mayan calendar is correct, the end of the world is supposed to occur on December 21st, 2012. But then, we have the Julian calendar, and the newer Gregorian calendar to contend with. Since the Gregorian calendar has deleted minutes and days from the older Julian calendar, which is more closely analogued with the Mayan calendar; So that the Gregorian calendar would have a 12 month year and assure that Easter was at the same time every year. The Gregorian calendar would now have us past the date of December 21st, 2012 .. So, the end of the world has already taken place. Or has it?



There are many factors which could end the world in a matter of seconds, A rogue asteroid slamming into the planet and destroying it, nuclear war, the Earth going through a belt of radiation in space that would kill everything, even with our atmosphere's protection, aliens who decided to put an intergalactic freeway through our solar system .. etc. The last scenario is probably moot, our whole system is fading through the void of space at several hundred thousand miles per second, and is not on a stationary point by any means. Take your pick of which end of the world scenario you feel comfortable with, there are thousands of them.



But, let's look on the bright side, we as humans, were given intelligence to overcome these obstacles, granted there are those who try to dumb us down, keep us in the dark about what is really going on, however, this has happened throughout mankind's existence and has always failed, it slows us down, sure, But, has never stopped the human spirit of winning. Any group that wants total control over the populace eats itself out from the inside, and winds up being a hollow shell, which breaks apart at the seams. People, intelligent people, need to be nurtured to keep these controllers in power, if they get rid of all of the intelligent people, no one will be left to run their machines, and then the would be controllers fail. So a balance is created where the average person makes a decent living, though it tips in favor of either the controllers, or the average person, one way or the other occasionally, but it always rights itself eventually. The same goes with the "End of the World" scenarios, One group of controllers / fear-mongers, will convince a whole multitude of people that this is the end of the world, and if the people they've convinced don't believe in their way of beliefs so they can get to heaven, "YOU'RE ALL GONNA DIIIEEEEEE, Blah Blah Blah, ad infinitum". It is also a test to see how many gullible people there are out there, and how much money can be made from them. Then when the date for the end of the world has passed, the fear-mongers go back into their holes for a time. Don't subscribe to their fear.

GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS THAT WERE NEVER REALLY RECOGNIZED :

Hydrogen powered engines have been around since the late 1890's, they are patterned after the steam engine, but run on hydrogen, are very fuel efficient, and produce ozone, and fresh water as by products.

Solar, wind, and magnetic power, have been kept in the background as potential power sources, some people are beginning to see the benefits of using these alternative energies now, and we see solar stations and windmills and their variations all over the Earth. It is the beginning of a new golden age of making the Earth a better place for all of us.

Many of the natural ways of healing are coming back into use, even by modern day physician's. They are finding that humans respond better to organic medicines, after all human beings are of the Earth, not of a laboratory.

DISCOVERIES FOR EVERYONE :

A discovery of a new species of some kind of animal, or insect, or microbe happens on a daily basis.

Growing a garden is a wonderful thing to experience, you take a seed, put it in the ground, and the seed grows, and uses organic material that is all around it, that in no way resembles the seed, or its sprout in any way, and the plant transmutates those organic materials into a plant which in turn feeds humans, and animals when the plant is fully mature.

Spiders worldwide consume 180,000 tons of insects per week, otherwise, we would be overrun by them.

If you are a amateur mycologist (Mushroom enthusiast / studier / collector / eater), you know that when you go out to pick mushrooms, you do not pick them, but slice them off at ground level. This way, you do not kill off the root under the ground, and within a weeks time, that mushroom root, if the conditions are right, will grow another mushroom the same size as what you sliced off a week ago, therefore you have a continuing crop. Chanterelle mushrooms really respond well to this harvesting. Should you pull the mushroom out by its root accidentally, cut off the root part and place it back in the ground, and water if it if you have water with you. Watch out for Snakes.

Snakes are fascinating creatures in themselves, they can propel themselves along the ground at terrific speeds without the use of arms or legs, and they rid the Earth of a lot of pests too. So next time a snake surprises you, stay out of its way, and it will probably ignore you too.

SOMETHING TO PONDER :

If the end of the world was going to happen, it would have taken place many years ago, probably with the nuclear threat. Humans have grown since that time, and have managed not to get their fingers burned, very much. Right now, we are in a quandary of what is going to happen next, if we stop for a moment and consider all that is going on, it is what has happened many times in the past. Human beings need a challenge to keep sharp, otherwise we would become dull, lazy, and incompetent. Our challenge now is to make something of ourselves, and to settle our differences and work together to achieve that which we were intended to do, Once we learn what that is, then we will begin to understand why we are here. Fighting wars wil not answer that question, but exploring the universe and finding that which is in ourselves will further our quest for knowledge, which is a never ending process.
